Some people are born with the innate ability to be organized, whilst others have to develop this skill. Whatever the case may be for you, it is important to master this skill if you want to be a successful freelancer. Over the years, I have researched and learned about great organization tips for freelancers. Now, I want to share with you my great organization tips for freelancers. Check out my list below for seven simple yet great organization tips for freelancers to help you boost your day-to-day operations.

  1. Create a routine that starts your day focused and optimistic mindset. Throughout the day you should keep yourself nourished, allow breaks for stretches, and recharge. By the end of the day, you should have fulfilled your daily priorities because you did them during the most productive times of the day.
  2. Keep organized schedules and calendars with your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and deadlines.
  3. When creating a to-do list, always note information from the highest in priority to the lowest in priority.
  4. Whether you have a physical system or a digital one, your tracking system should be readily accessible and easy to update. By doing this, it will be easier to keep aware of your to-dos, track progress and update your schedule.
  5. Create a filing system that tracks your finances, jobs, contracts, invoices, among other important documents. Ensure this information is always safely stored in both physical and digital filing systems.
  6. Declutter your workspace and e-mails so that you can easily find what you need, keep focused, and have a “clear head”.
  7. Organize your physical workspace in a way that is comfortable yet functional. It should facilitate ease of access to your tools, devices, and documents, and keep the things you use in one place.

These are some of the ways that I keep myself organized. What about you?
