MUST DO WHEN STARTING ONLINE
Now I have been operating my online business for over 3 years. I have made lots of mistakes and of course lots of great decisions. According to my experiences and the experience of other persons that I have learned from, there are definitely some things that you must do when getting started online.
PUT IN THE HOURS
The first thing you have to be aware of is that this service that you are providing online is yours. You are the sole owner, you chose which clients to work with, you chose your time and you also chose the amount of money to charge. Therefore you cannot treat it like a 9 -5. It is your business, therefore, you are expected to put in more time. Whereas in the 9-5 you put in 8 hours, in your online business you will put in 12 hours. Why, because it’s your business, you call the shots, the more hours the more money. So put in the hours to build up your business.
DO SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE IN
I recommend that you do something that you believe you can do and that you are knowledgeable about when getting started online. Why? Because if you don’t like or believe in the service that you’re providing online you will not spend the time to build it up. Which will lead to it not been unsuccessful.
ALWAYS OVERDELIVER
Always aim to overdeliver to your clients no matter the cost of the project. Why? Not only will those clients hire you again, they will recommend you to others. A recommendation is a big thing when it comes to working online.
GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TIME TO BUILD
Please be mindful of the fact that you will not make a lot of money in your first couple months of working online. Every business takes time to build up and an online business is not excluded. Just like opening a store it takes time for persons to start coming on a regular basis and then telling others about it. The online business is no different. Please give it time to build.
PROVIDE MORE WORK FOR LESS CASH
When just getting started, it is recommended to provide more work for less amount of cash. This will help you t o attract customers and start building your reputation. As an online entrepreneur, you will come to the realization that in the online world it is the reviews that count. So getting in those reviews is essential when getting started.
